Back And (Somewhat) Refreshed...

A few months ago, we planned a mini-family-trip to Orlando. We were supposed to leave last Friday but with the loss of our Pastor and his son, we opted to shave a few days off the vacation so we could attend their service and church the next day. The service was beautiful and I know that it actually brought a great deal of comfort to many people. Thank you so much, by the way, for all the prayers that were and are being lifted up for the Pollock family. And thank you for all the sweet comments and e-mails that I've received since we first got news of this tragedy.

Once we made the (one hour) trip to the resort, we were able to just enjoy each other and the break from... everything. We had so much fun. The trip definitely came at just the right time. So did this adorable picture of our little guy. Isn't he growing up??

Today, right before we headed home, we got a little bit of discouraging news. We've been asked to provide some more supporting documentation since we don't fall into the parameters of the 1974 laws that are now (kind of?) being enforced. We'll try to obtain this as quickly as possible since it will need to be notarized, authenticated and translated before heading to Haiti. We are assuming that we won't be out of IBESR until this is done and reviewed. We were able to escape the adoption worries for a few days.... now we're home and it looks like there's some work to do.

Wow Beth- Asa looks really really good! What a handsome little boy!

Well, I would have preferred hearing that you are out of IBESR, but I'm glad to hear they are asking for something. That means they are in fact actually working on your file. Sometimes it's easy to wonder if files aren't lost at the bottom of a mountain of stacks of paperwork... Praying you can get what you need quickly and then get the heck out of there!

I'm glad you got some much-needed fun & relaxation. It's good to have you back!

Arg. It's always something. You probably meet all the requirements--it's just that they change so often that it's hard to keep track!

Only an hour away from a resort...girl what is wrong with you that you haven't gone sooner!!! '-) Glad you got away and that you were able to escape for a tiny bit from the norm.

Praying that your new paperwork gets done lickety-split and that you get some good news soon.

He is such a handsome little guy!

Beth,
I sure hope once your new paperwork gets to IBESR that you exit very quickly. Marc and I are going to the creche on the first trip next month. I will make sure to hug and kiss sweet Asa. I'll also whisper in his ear that his mama is coming to see him soon. Let's hope we all come out of ibesr soon.
